About my compositions

Initially the style could be defined as Jazz Gospel but more recently the styles that seem to flow from me have broadened. So my compositions range from african styled pieces to rock, with very interesting harmonic structures and time signatures that I joyfully discover challenge but enthuse even the more accomplished members of the wonderful band that I have the privilage to work with - Alex Maguire, Mark Sanders And Joseph Roberts.

My performance history

My performance history includes memorable gigs with The London Community Gospel Choir, Black Voices in a tour of East Africa, Priti Paintal and her group Shivanova at the Queen Elizabeth Halls London 1995: Wei Lei and her chinese Orchestra, Queen Elizabeth Halls, London 1997. Jazz Voices whom I led in concert 1995 Queen Elizabeth Halls, Darker than Blue a female vocal quartet that I directed and toured with, The Brenda Rattray Singers, Stan Tracey, The Duncan Lamont Big band, Carol Grimes, Ian Shaw , free jazz with Roberto Bellatalla alongside Claude Deppa, Jason Yarde and Brian Abrahams and The Grand Union Orchestra.

Current Projects

I am currently composing material for both the City Choir, my Quartet and other material to share with Fabio Mini a fellow composer and teacher in Italy.

The first performance of my compositions received a standing ovation from the audience in Greenwich international Festivals in July last year. Fingers crossed for more opportunities to perform my compositions in the Year 2002.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, (what spare Time?) I draw, write poetry and spend all the quality time I can with my wonderful husband. I am hoping to put on an exhibition of my artworks sometime in the near future (In the update of this website you will be able to view some of my art works) and my prayer is to have my own CD out soon.
